Social and Legal Assistance to Asylum Seekers

Anotace:	The project aims at providing legal and social counselling together with additional services to the applicants for international protection that live outside the refugee facilities of the Ministry of Interior. The purpose of the project is to provide free qualified and efficient social and legal counselling, further to ensure provision of healthcare assistence as well as the psychological services. Thus, the project should contribute to strengthen and support the legal conscience and basic orientation of the applicants for international protection in the Czech legal and social environment and help them to use their legally guaranteed rights and support their adaptation in the Czech environment.

Helping hand

Anotace:	The project aims at providing individual legal and social counselling, psychosocial help and assistence to foreigners in the contact with the authorities and other public instituttions and in other situations related to tehir integration to the Czech society. The project is focused on the support of migrants from third countries legally residing on our territory, who belong among the most marginalised groups of population affected by social exclusion. Specific support will be provided to minor foreigners, victims of forced labour and trafficking in persons, pregnants women migrants, handicapped persons and seniors. The counselling will be provided especially in matters related to the stay in the Czech Republic and prevention from potential irregular status, labour law issues and in the field of healthcare and education.

Regularization as one of the instruments in the fight against illegal migration

Anotace:	The project focuses on the issue of illegal labor migration of foreigners from outside the EU, therefore, to aliens who work in the Czech Republic without a work permit or in conflict with work permit and/or are here without a residence permit. The project aims to contribute to finding innovative solutions of this serious problem through an awareness-raising, providing information, guidance and lobbying.Illegal labor leads to the exploitation of foreigners, to reduce standards of employment rights as a result of dumping of illegal labor, the fiscal losses or security risks. In the framework of international cooperation and on the basis of inspiration from other European countries, mainly from Spain and Portugal, extensive experience in the integration of socially excluded people in the legal labor market and society will be used.

The DEVAS Project

Chinese Boy

Doba trvání:	November 1, 2008 – October 31, 2009

Anotace:	The project is aimed at helping a Chinese boy, who is disabled with the Down syndrome and a chronic heart insufficiency. His state needs an incessant care, but also high financial costs. The only source of income in the family is the father; the family therefore suffers from financial problems. Our organisation, with the help of the Foundation Help the children pays the fees for his stay in the child centre Paprsek that provides assistance to children with serious disability by a form of daily social welfare institution, physiotherapy etc.

Changing the attitude of the European youth towards developing countries with the help of migrants

Anotace:	The main aim of the project is to raise the European youth’s awareness about developing countries focusing in particular on the link between migration and development. The activities within the oroject concentrate mainly on the production of resources, which be used for achieving the project’s objectives. A comic book telling a story of a refugee, a computer didactic game and a short animated cartoon will be created. All of these items will be distributed to schools and local libraries within the Czech Republic.
